As we approach Memorial Day 2016, it is a time of celebration for those at Bel Air Games – We’re coming up on our 2 year anniversary and we’ll have a lot of events both leading up to and during our anniversary!
On May 4th and 18th, we’ll be rolling out our newest type of events: Boardgame Play and Take! For a Play and Take event, you’ll buy in at a price based on the game being played. After playing through the game, the winner will get to take the board game home! Even if you lose, there’s no need to worry: You’ll get a discount on the purchase of the game that you just played. All Play and Take events will start at 6:00 pm, and will fire once we have a minimum amount of people. We’ll happily do multiple pods if enough people are interested and supplies last. Even if supplies don’t last, we’ll happily let those of you who earned the discount take a raincheck.
The first game we’ll be featuring, on May 4th, is the new release from Fantasy Flight’s Android universe: Mainframe! You and up to three opponents become elite cybercriminals known as runners. When the mainframe and fortunes at Titan Transnational Bank are suddenly compromised, it’s time for you to go to work. But it turns out that you’re not the only runner who has been alerted to Titan’s woes, and that means you’re not the only runner in Titan’s servers. It’s time to show your competitors what you can do: execute your programs, establish access points and partitions, and seize control of the mainframe. Buy in for the event will be $10, with the losers receiving a $5 discount on their purchase. 4 Players will be the minimum required to fire.
Our second featured game, happening on May 18th, will be Schrodinger’s Cats. This bluffing game, similar to Liar’s Dice, is all about making science happen with cute little cats! Featuring a plethora of cat puns, Schrodinger’s Cats is a pseudo-scientific card game of strategic uncertainty for 2-6 players. It’s a fast, fun game of bluffing, deduction, and cute cat pictures! Buy in for this event will be $5, with the losers receiving a discount of $2.50 on their purr-chase. 4 Players will be the mini-meow-m required to fire.
Finally, our Anniversary celebration will be happening on May 30th. In addition to our normal Shadows over Innistrad Sealed League, we’ll be hosting an all-night Mini Masters tournament. Buy in will be $6, and you’ll receive a record slip and a single pack of Shadows over Innistrad. Build a 30 card minimum deck with your pack, and play against someone else with the same amount of stamps on their record slip. If you win, you’ll claim their slip and be able to turn it in up front for a new pack to add to your deck, as well as a stamp on your record sheet. If you lose, you’re out! Not to worry though – you can buy in again and start over! But that’s not all…
These 5 people will walk into the store. 4 of them will leave. Who will die? Who will be the killer? It will be your responsibility to find out who at the Bel Air Games Murder Mystery Celebration! We’ll be putting on a show to celebrate our second Anniversary! Come in from 5:00pm to close and you’ll have the chance to test your sleuthing skills and determine who here is filled with murderous intent. At the end of the night, anyone who has correctly chosen the killer will receive $5 Store Credit!
